One year ago, I made a promise to the people of Sierra Leone. I would return to start a non-profit organization and provide help to the people who are in desperate need of clean water, starting with the communities of Kambia, Sierra Leone.
In the summer of 2017, I will be making a return to Kambia, Sierra Leone, for an extended trip to launch The Bangura Project. I plan on staying at the YMCA Sierra Leone for more than six months in order to deliver Hippo Rollers, a product that makes transporting large amounts of clean water possible. I will also work towards establishing relationships with the communities of the impoverished district, which is a place that is home to my mother, brother and other family members.
